So smart

The things I do to become more professional in making jewellery!

A couple of weeks ago I went to an arts and craft fair in Rijswijk where I bought a desk lamp with magnifying glass. Perfect for finetuning all the bendy bits and making sure every part of a chain is properly closed.

A week later I decided to also purchase scales to weigh the clay. This way I can make beads that have exactly the same size, in stead of having to guess. It had to be scales that can weigh tenths of grams. And where can you buy these nifty things? Yes, in a smartshop! Lucky for me that Amsterdam has a few of those, and as I was shopping in the Leidsestraat I just popped in a smartshop as if it were a regular supermarket and asked if I could check out one of the scales they had on offer. The shop assistant seemed like a regular guy who helped me very professionally. He did not ask what I needed the scales for, and I am sure that he saw me for the middle aged clay weighing woman that I am. But bless him for not asking. I felt very cool for finally having entered such a shop. Yes, being an Amsterdammer does not automatically mean you are using drugs!

The scales are this tiny little pocket gadget at the bottom of the picture.
