New techniques

Dear blog reader, on Saturday 21 April, last, I learned several new techniques involving rubber stamp mats.

You make several simple canes in different colours, put them together, wrap one sheet of clay around it, then press the whole thing flat until you can put it through the pasta machine. Next, press a rubber stamp mat in the clay, and press it really hard. Remove the stamp, then cut off the top of the figure that appears. You will see that all the colours underneath reappear like magic! This is what I made with this technique: And I still have lots of beads left from this huge cane. It is definitely worth trying again with different colours and different shapes.
